About the print: 

I started this piece while renting a one room cabin on the Puget Sound in the PNW. I spent a week in solitude, walking along the coves, observing the junco's dance outside my window, collecting moss and ferns and little pieces of bark. It was a time of solitude, in the quiet sunlight, in my quiet heart. 

"Home" is made up entirely of Oregon native plants, all forming a heart where a little bird lives. It marks 8 years of living on the west coast, learning not only a new external habitat but discovering a rich internal one as well. 

At the end, I wanted to nod toward my past, so I added a little lightning bug-- a core memory growing up in the hot summers of the midwest.
